CNA Certification Help Needed

Hi everyone!
I've passed by first semester in nursing school (nursing fundamentals)and now would like to work as a CNA in New Jersey. Can I take the certification exam based on my training in nursing fundamentals? If so, how do I go about arranging this? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to allnurses.com

Yes you can!!!

Go to New Jersey's Dept of health's website for more info.

Taken from their website...

Obtaining Nurse Aide Certification Through Alternate Training (Vocational) Routes

The following individuals may take the Department’s written/oral examination without first completing a nurse aide training course and clinical skills evaluation:

Students, graduate nurses, or foreign licensed nurses, pending licensure, who submit evidence of successful completion of a course in the fundamentals of nursing;

Send all documentation of required training to:

You can work at a hospital without the licensure which is about 100 dollars last time I checked. I work as a CNA in NJ and our hospital offers student nurses who have finished their first clinical rotation an opportunity to work as a Nurse's Aide.
