Background check in CA taking forever!!!

Hi there! Has anyone out there recently been waiting on a background check in CA? How long did it take? I've had 5 in the last 2 years for different classes/jobs, but this one seems to be taking longer than usual. A friend of mine said it's because of all the furlough days state workers are forced to take. I got a job 2 weeks ago, but am still waiting on my backround check to clear to be able to start. When I got fingerprinted the guy said the results would be in within 5 business days. Ugh... ready to work! Thanks

Congrats! I know its really frustrating to wait on background checks..when I got licensed this year in MD, I had to wait for not only state, but also FBI background checks to be completed & it took 2 months
