Any CNA or PCT train in NYC @ Mahattan Institute - Good School?

by MRCast

I am interested i knowing if anybody lives in NYC and has attended the Manhattan Institute? Is it a good school? I am scheduled to begin CNA training in 2 weeks and then will go on to study PCT (Nursing tech). My classes are on Saturday and Sunday for 7 weeks (CNA) and then another 7 weeks for PCT. Did you find the teachers helpful? Is the class difficult? How long did it take you to finish both classes? Were you able to find a job quickly? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated about this school.

I was also thinking about going to this school for their PCT course, but since I haven't started it yet I can't really offer any advice. You can try posting in the New York forum under the Regions tab and also here's a link to a previous discussion about MI. Good luck with your class!

I recently graduated from the manhattan institute and had the same experience as TBb15. The teachers and the entire staff were great.

I'm going to agree with everyone else. Staff and teachers were great. But I would recommend not signing up to take the exam through the school because I had to wait 3 months for a test date. When i finally got one it was rescheduled 3 times. Took my State exam on the 12/30/08 and pass.

(Btw I finished the class in august)

I had the same problem but it isnt fair to blame the school. The exam and the lady who gives the test is sent from NY State. It really has nothing to do with the school. If it takes a long time or is cancelled, it has nothing to do with the school. In fact, the school recieves no money or compensation of any kind, they do it as a favor to the students. I confirmed this with the school and the state. As I was very frustrated with the situation.

I would ecommend that you take the state exam in the school where you take the course. You will feel more comfortable with the surroundings.

When you do finally take the test, the state is fast at giving you your results.
