worry about job

Shadowed for a new job last week, and have not heard from the employer since.....I called a couple times and left a message. NO reply. I am scared!

I really liked the work! I couldn't get into it fully because I was just shadowing but the patient load was such that you could really spend alot of time in each patients room. The NA I worked with even took a breakfast break (honest, I am not kidding) but I would have rather done a bit more with the patients.

I am just used to so much more work, doing LTC in the past. It is hard for me to sit down!

Does it sound like they have decided not to hire me?

I hope I didn't help too much.

Specializes in Acute, subacute and Geriatric.

Specializes in Nursing assistant.

Thanks to all of you~

Have been working now starting my second week, and just love this! Nursing home work does not prepare you for hospital work. I have to learn so much. It is physically much much easier; gone are the days of the 200 pound pivots, where you just prayed the pts legs would hold, gone are the days of standing on the bed frame behind the head board to hoist a pt up in bed. No more tons of depends to drag through the parking lot to the dippy dumptster...but I digress....

I feel like I've died and gone to heaven!

It is taking me longer than most to catch on, but I am determined to learn, and hope they keep me!

Specializes in ICU, ER, Hemodialysis.
