It can be either 12 hours shifts or 8 hours. I've worked from 7a-7p, 7-3, and 3-11 before.

I work 11p-7a at an LTC facility, when I worked day shift at the same facility it was 7a-3p. A friend works at the local hospital and his hours are 3p-3a.

Most nursing homes around me are 7a-3p or 3p-11p or 11p-7a. The hospitals are mixed here, most are 12 hour shifts 7a-7:30p or 7p-7:30a. But some are 8 hour shifts too.

I work assisted Living, double shift weekends. Saturday 6 AM - 10 Pm, and Sunday 6 Am - 10 PM. I like it so I can spend the week studying and I get four shifts done in 2 days.
