My State Certification test is 8/2 and I'm getting a bit nervous. The testing company is Prometric. Upon signing up, we were told to expect to stay all day as we would be "Residents" for others taking the test.

Obviously I assume we would not do Peri-Care, Denture/Mouth care, nor feeding, Partial bed baths on another student...:uhoh3:

Do the testing facilities also have "manikins" to perform certain tasks on?

Does anyone have an opinon on what are the most requested tasts to perform by the tester???

Thank you -

OH yes you will perform all of those skills none of them or off limits

They have a mancain for peri care but you do denture care on real dentures, modifed bed bath on a real person oral care on a real person feeding on a real person

Be prepared the skills are totally random no one knows what you will get

good luck

Really? We are all suppose to stay all day to be "Residents" for other students who are testing. But, I'm not going to agree to have a modified bed bad, oral care, or eating something that I have no idea where it came from, or how long it has been sitting around. I have my limits...lol

I did my test through Pearson Vue in Wisconsin. We did the written test first and according to the order of when we finished our test, we were paired up with our partner and given the time of our skills. (First and second people to finish the test were the first pair to do skills, and so on.) If your test was one of the later ones you were allowed to leave the site as long as you were back on time. You do have to be the 'patient' for feeding, modified bed bath, etc. My partner had to preform foot care on me. It's no big deal, nothing more than you had to do in class with your classmates.

Thats how we did it there were 35 of us testing i got there at 8 didnt leave until 4

I'll just be nervous as heck if I have to wait until late in the day to perform the skills test...eek!

you will do fine, in my opinion it is alot simpler than ppl give it credit, especially compared to the real thing. I have a new found respect for CNA's. just remember your core steps. I had to do feeding, it was some fruit cocktail out of the can, i also did peri care on the dummy, and ROM...

I'm in NY and it was prometric. The skills are preprinted on cards and its already assigned which ones you get when the tester shows up.

If its like mine they will show you the card when you first go into the testing room and give you a minute to read the card over and ask any questions before you begin.

Good luck.
