where all can you work as a CNA?

Nursing Students CNA/MA

i have just started out as a CNA. I worked in a nursing home for a little over a month and it was tougher than i expected, not bc of the work but bc of the staff. the nurses were so impatient with me, they wanted me to already know everything and the other CNA i worked with, couldn't even look me in the eye and talk to me, therefore he never gave me information on the patients. I also had to work a lot more than i wanted to. my last week of work there i put in a 70 hour week.

I dont mean to complain, but I really wanted to be a CNA through school, but if I have to do this through school, I feel like I would have to fail at one of the two.

My question is where are other places I could look into working as a CNA (that might also pay well)?

Also, if I did in home private pay, what would be a good rate to accept or ask for?

thanks!:nurse:

You can work in assisted living facilities, work for hospice agencies, hospitals, and home care. It really all depends on your area, because in my area, some home health agencies pay pretty low ($9/hr, $.30/mi. reimbursement), while others pay $11-$13/hr. Some hospitals around here pay $9.25 for a new CNA, and assisted living facilities pay around $11/hr for a new CNA. I understand it is in LTC..I only worked in a LTC for 2 months before I quit, everyone was sooo mean & unhelpful :(
