Weekend CNA courses?

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Has anyone taken a "Weekend" CNA course? I was thinking of going to Florida Medical Prep that offers a weekend course in preparation to take the exam. Any suggestions? Is this too good to be true?

I signed up to start the weekend class at FL Med Prep this coming weekend. It's a class to prep for the CNA test, and not the state certified 120 hour course (which isn't necessary in FL, but is suggested by some employers). I like that they also offer job placement assistance, and hope that it works out well.

I am in NC and just am about done with my summer weekend CNA class. It is 160 hours. We met on Friday 8-5 and Saturday 8-12 when we did classroom, and then for clincals, it was 8-5 both days. It's a 12 week class. I love it because I can still work 4 days a week!

Future Nurse,

Let me know how it goes. Good Luck! I may be headed down that same road. Thanks!

Future Nurse,

Let me know how it goes. I may be headed down the same path. Keep me updated. Thanks!

Where is FLorida Medical Prep located? As in what city? It basicly teaches you what you need to know for the test and clinicals right? May I ask how much it is? Sorry so many questions. I am having a hard time finding a CMA training school/site in my area that will allow me to do them on the weekends. Thanks!

They have a couple of different locations, I'm going to the one in Pinellas Park, but they also have one in Tampa. Their website is www.beacna.com (I'm assuming it's okay to post links. If it's not and the link disappears, you can Google Florida Medical Prep Tampa and find them). There's other companies that offer similar programs too. This one works for me because they're about 5 minutes from my house and have classes at a time that works for me.

Thanks for replying. The closest one is an hour away in Leesburg. I live in Orlando and can't find ANYTHING here. I'm getting very discouraged.

I also live in Orlando and am looking for weekend CNA classes or any short program I am getting my BS in Biology and just don't have the time or money any help would be appreciated. I tried the red cross and SCC and Valencia no luck I am thinking of just making thre drive to Florida Medical Prep.

I am signed up for a course also. My friend already took the class and said it was great. It is Medical Prep Of Pinellas (727) 768-3633 and their website is www.cnaprepcourse.com. They offer 2 week classes also. They are a state test site .Just in case it is closer to your home? I start on Monday! Can't wait. $240 with a book. I know all the programs are supposed to be pretty good but it is close to my home and I already know someone who went there and was very happy. :yeah:

Thanks for that information, but that (Pinellas) is about 2 hours south of Orlando. Thanks again though!
