I was called in for a last second interview for a cna position at a hospital last Friday.

They called me on Friday expecting me to come in within 2 hours for the interview.

I had no time to prepare and HR, DON, and former cna instructor knew it when they interviewed me.

They said they will let me know if I got/or didnt get the job by Tuesday.

Today i get no call and now seems pretty obvious I didnt get it.

So should I call and ask why i didnt get it or just move on? i feel like I deserve at least a response saying why I didn't get it, since I was called in last second. They even knew I had to be late for work because of this interview. Now I can't even stop thinking about it.

You interviewed on the day before a holiday weekend, and are upset that you didn't get a call the next business day? Managers do get busy and have more immediate priorities. Give them a little time.

Managers have absolutely no obligation to defend their decision. I don't know if they plan to hire you or not, but if you call and ask "Why didn't you hire me?" I can pretty much guarantee you don't egret hired. Weds or Thurs call back, thank them for meeting with you, and politely ask if they've made a decision yet.

They are under no obligation to tell you why they didn't hire you if they chose not to hire you.
