Nursing Students CNA/MA

So I was recently considered for a job at my local hospital. They sent me an email saying that I needed to complete this assessment. So I do a little research before I begin to take the test and it seems that people actually fail it and are not able to apply to that hospital again until 6 months to a year later! I really need this job and I was wondering if anyone had any insight or knew that they were looking for...

I personally do not know the answers to your questions, and I hope someone here might have experiance with it to help you out.

I just wanted to say that I am hoping for the best for you, and hope you get the opertunity for this job that you have been wanting. Good Luck!

Thanks so much mvm2!

When I was phone interviewed for a job through a registry at a hospital, they gave me a set of vitals and asked if I would get the nurse, and for which part. Then they asked me a series of questions about what I would do in certain situations. I can't remember all of them. One was if a patient is alone in a room, and wants the door to be shut, what do I do? If a patient offers to bribe me to get them food and they're NPO what do I do? If a patient asks me for my number what do I do?

First question, I said I would shut the door if they are not confused or a fall risk.

Second question, no bribing.

Third, absolutely not.

I got the contract for the job. The same registry also had a few different sets of questions for the different hospitals I would be working at. All of them covered a range of topics. Most of it was how to handle family members, other staff, what my role is, etc.

Mostly, you need to know infection control, when to get the nurse, normal values for vital signs, and emergency procedures.

I'm not sure what the hospital you're applying to is going to ask.

Specializes in Vents, Telemetry, Home Care, Home infusion.
