LVNs going extinct? MAs taking over?

I have read over and over, it's a constant battle between this argument.

Truth is, I don't give a crap. LVNs will start ranting on this topic but its true, they are going extinct. And I really dont care what LVNs have to say because they will defend their "class" and so on and so forth, but in reality...

Search it up on indeed.com or any job search engine...then search of medical assistants.

They are more high in demand.

We learn the same things and pay like 10k less.

I think we need to be respectful of each other as professional and conduct ourselves accordingly. Each member of the healthcare team have very specific roles to provide the best care of our patients. Each of us choose the path that we wish to follow and decide what is best for us individually....and what is best for our families.

I think we need to acknowledge each other and respect each others roles within the healthcare system in order to provide the best possible care for our patients.

I tell my kids unless you have something nice to say ...say nothing at all.

Well, My main point being is, its such a war, its a personal opinion about lvns Vs. Ma's. Im a CMA making 24.70 p/h at a hospital. and it seems all my lvn coworkers are just getting laid off.

There is no war here with MAs. MAs don't post very often in this forum. I figured the CNAs here would respond as they did, fairly.

$24 bucks a hour is pretty good for a tech position.....however, since MA's are not licensed they will never be able legally to replace the position of a LVN (hospital setting) unless that LVN is actually working as a tech. Because MA's do not give meds, assess ,push IV drugs in the hospital this is not legal and because of that liability just does not happen.

LVN/LPN will not being going away any time soon. They are an important part of the medical team just like CNA, CMA, CMT, RN, and so on. Where I live at CMA is actually the least in demand position and LPN is the most in demand.

I live in Oklahoma, and there are always tons of open LPN positions here. My BSN advisor has told me that, beginning in the middle of my LPN program (I'm doing LPN first, then a bridge), we'll start having recruiters from area hospitals, etc., come to the campus to pitch their opportunities to us... There are always tons of LPN postings on job boards.

I live in Oklahoma too and I can attest to this. It's the same for RNs. I see so many posts on allnurses about people saying there's a lack of jobs.. Well there certainly isn't in the entire 918 area of Oklahoma (Tulsa, Muskogee, etc)
