I passed my final exam yesterday with a 90, so I'm now a CNA. I will be state tested after 30 days, then I'll be an STNA. I can't join the LPN program until April, I'm kind of bummed, but that's okay. The facility only gives out the scholarships in October and in April. I'm so excited about making this career change. I've always worked in a an office setting, and this is by far more rewarding. I'm 34 and was thinking and I too old to make this career change, then I thought well I don't feel 34, so go for it. I still feel very young in my heart, and after all it's about the patients not me! I just love working with residents. I know there will be good days and bad days, but the good will outweigh the bad.
