I just don't get it!

Hello everyone

I'm about to start class in a couple of weeks for my CNA certification. I got my supplies, scrubs, notebook, books, watch, stethoscope, I'm ready to go, except for one problem and I'm hoping someone can help me out here.

I have bought 3 prestige medical professional aneroid sphygmomanometers (kit) and have had to take everyone of them back because I can't hear out of the left ear piece. I even changed out the ear tips to see if that would make a difference, it didn't. I can however hold the left ear tube out just a little (away from my ear) and can hear fine but as soon as I let go to put the right side one in my other ear, the sound goes away in my left one. I just can't figure it out and was wondering if anybody else ever had this problem before.

I'm so frustrated, yet determined to find the answer.

Can you not hear out of the stethoscope that came in the BP kit?

That is correct bluedove1, I can't hear out of the left one unless I'm slightly holding it away from my ear, but as soon as I let go to let it rest inside my ear to put the other side on, the sound I hear in that one disappears.

the ear piece is not fitting properly in your ear.. try switching to the next size up and it should work.

Thank you 203bravo, but I already tried that before I posted.

putting a larger one in? it's going to far into your ear.. that's the only reason that you would be able to hear out of that side when it's held out of your ear and the sound disappears when you place it back in...

Thank you 203bravo, I'll go tomorrow and purchase some more ear tips (larger ones) and see if that will make a difference.
