When you lower the head of the bed to put the bed pan on the patient do you need to raise the side...by marsqueen Feb 16When you lower the head of the bed to put the bed pan on the patient do you need to raise the side rails? I thought I remembered my teacher saying that you need to raise the side rails every time you move the bed, but I might have misheard her, and it seems unnecessary to raise them for this reason.

- Feb 16 by ZombieMommaIt's not mentioned as a step in my book but it seems like the patient will need something to hold onto in order to lean over. I do just bc it makes sense to me.
