My workplace in Texas pays CNAs $11 hourly for full-time status and $15 hourly for PRN (no benefits).

Hey! I'm working on getting certified and live in OK, do they offer differentials for cna's like they do for rn's?

Yes! My hospital offered a differential for any hours worked after 3pm and any weekends. I don't remember exactly how much (I've been a full-time nursing student this past year and haven't worked as a CNA since last year), but it was nice. My hospital also payed time and half for holidays. It adds up nicely, but I still think it is nowhere near what a CNA's workload deserves. Good luck with your certification and getting a job! I'm glad I did it, despite the poor pay.

Thank you! I'm looking forward to it! I had planned on staying at my current job until I was able to start a nursing program, but I think it'd be worth the pay cut to be a cna for the experience-hope it works out to be that way!

I believe, it's where you go and how experience you are.
