Hospital PCA job and school

  1. 0
I had applied to many hospitals a few months ago and never heard back so I ended up taking a LTC job because I needed to start working. A week ago a hospital called me back for an interview for a PCA night job and it went well and before I get ahead of myself I just want to see if anyone has worked the night shift full-time while going to school four days a week, only two classes? It's a great opportunity and I would hate to pass it up but I don't want it to interfere with classes. Thanks.

If you go to school mon-thurs can you work only thurs, fri, sat nights? If so then it will be a lot easier on you. That being said of course you can, it all depends on you and your drive to do it. I did many classes having worked the night before, but I wasn't there all day, maybe 3-4 hours or so.

    good luck!

I work night-shift at a hospital (12.5 hr shifts). I go to college full-time. I homeschool two of my children. I pay all the bills at home. Yes..it can be done! Like the previous poster said, it's all about your drive to do it. True, I rarely sleep and all I do is study--but the outcome will be well worth it! (RRT in training!)

The hospital may not want you to work full time if you can't commit to more than 3 days. I was told they wouldn't let me on full time because I could only work weekends. If they do want you then I don't see a reason to not take it!. Are you in clinicals yet? Will you have time to do your care plans?
