Hi. Do you know any good CNA schools in Dallas?

Hi. I would really appreciate it if I can get some feedback on this. What are some good or great nursing aide/CNA schools in the Dallas-Fort Worth area? I would like to attend a CNA school with a good reputation and that has a good job placement assistance program. Any feedback will be thankful.

I just graduated from Hearts in Training in Garland. It is a two week course with three days clinical at CC Young. Pretty good school although a bit expensive. I take my state test and skills exam this Friday so if I passed, it was a great school. If I fail, it is totally their fault!!!! Let me know if you want any additional info.

Dallas, I'm thinking about attending this school. I would like to know your experience. Did you pass your test? Were you able to find employment? Thanks a bunch :)

It is a pretty good school although the facility and equipment are a bit old but they get the job done. It seems like a lot of information in the beginning but if you have any college experience and know how to study, it should be a breeze. I think they over-prepare you for the exam which is good because you will have a ton more confidence when you take the skills test. As for jobs, we all had offers the day we graduated for $10/hr at a nursing home but after 3 days of clinicals in one, it is the last place I want to work. Hospitals seemed harder since most I applied to wanted at least a year of acute-care experience. I did eventually find one though and I am really happy there. Thanks a bunch for responding so quickly. That's good to know that you were all offered employment after graduating. That's excellent actually. I just want to get my foot in the door, so I can work as a CNA while attending Nursing school. If you don't mind me asking where did you find employment? It may be beneficial to me if I work at a hospital while attending Nursing school, since they may pay for it.

I got a job at Denton Regional as a tech. I am also in nursing school which is why I wanted acute care experience. They will pay for school, most of it, as long as you are there for at least a year first.

I hope I'm not asking too many questions. I'm just trying to figure out the best way for me to pay for Nursing school. I really wanted to go to a vocational school, but I don't know how I will afford it. I'm currently getting unemployment benefits and they will not pay for the LVN program from a Vocational School only from one of their approved Community Colleges. They have waiting lists and I may not get in for a while. I thought that my best option was to become a CNA and work for an employer that would pay for my Nursing education.

Go right for an ADN from a community college. My boss at the hospital cussed me out when I told her I was going to LVN school if I didn't get into RN school. She said that the hospital was really pushing to not hire any more LVNs and that she would not have a spot for me once I graduated. So it is either RN or bust for me.
