I currently work for as a home health aide for an agency , but lately I've hardly been getting cases I only seem to get temporary ones . I'm currently looking for a new agency that is part time because I go to school in the afternoons and on the weekends but my mornings are free most of the jobs want CNAs to work everyday , and no one wants to budge if you tell them you can't do weekends for school , seems like nowadays they want you to quit school in order to work for them . I'm not sure what to do ?

That's a tough one. I can't think of any CNA position that would meet those requirements. I often forget what actual day of the week it is because my schedule is all over the place. Is it possible to temporarily stop being a CNA to focus on school? I realize that this may be difficult depending upon your life situation. However, if you have supportive parents or a supportive spouse (or both), it can be done. I'm very thankful to my husband for supporting me so well while I was pursuing school.

I have to help my parents pay the rent and they aren't really doing well as my mom is a CNA as well and she's looking for a new job . I was helping them with the rent but the money I saved up is running low . Right now I'm at school to do phlebotomy I'm not sure if I will get a new job quickly when I'm done along with prerequisites. I'm thinking maybe I should get a store job like at the super market or clothing store , or call again and beg my job for something , but I'm not sure what to do .

Per diem. That way you can choose your hours. I worked per diem as a CNA through an agency so that I could choose my shifts.

Find an agency to work per diem as a sitter for now? I did that through nursing school. Except I worked for my hospital, not an agency.

You mean like as a companion?

I'm not sure what you mean by sitter?

Hospitals use sitters to watch patients, usually 1:1, for patients that may be at risk of harming themselves or others. Often sitters "sit" with patients having suicidal or homicidal ideations. Other patients may be at high risk for falls or there may be a concern that a confused or agitated patient might try pulling out an IV or feeding tube.

Many times the sitter is a CNA and large hospitals may hire people specifically as sitters.
