baldee likes this. - Nov 26, '08 by CentaurusThere is NO Florida law that requires a refund for students. You have to pass an examination by Florida law in order to work but there is no refund law.Last edit by sirI on Nov 26, '08 : Reason: TOS
- Nov 26, '08 by CentaurusIn addition the examination fee is $127 if you resided in Florida for the last five years not $165. You pay $165, if you have lived for less than five years in Florida.

Q. Are my expenses associated with obtaining my certification reimbursable?
A. If you complete a state approved training program and meet specified requirements, you might be eligible to receive reimbursement for some of your expenses. You should ask your employer (nursing homes are only employers which do reimburse) or the district Medicaid office in your area for details.
I am going to do this prep course in Dec.. Now just days or evenings lol!!

I paid $230 and was told that testing was within two weeks after completion of the course. I paid $127 to prometric the testing agency and was informed that my testing date was in late February 2009, almost three months later. I finished the class on Dec. 05, 2008. I complained to Med. Prep. of Pinellas and they became rude by stating that they have no contro over testing dates. However, their webpage states that the test weekly, quickly so that you can work fast. They also assist you with finding a job, yeah right. They gave us a medical job website that is up for sale. The teacher made alwasy fun of an older lady in class that just needed more time. I WOULD NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. BEWARE.
- Dec 23, '08 by aspendcat1FLORIDA MEDICAL PREP AND CNA PREP OF PINELLAS ARE TWO DIFFERENT COURSES...DO NOT CONFUSE THEM. Florida medial Prep has been in business for 6 years and they are members of the Better Business Bureau. I just attented a course there and the are WONDERFUL! Kind, Caring instructors that go the extra mile. Don't be fooled by impostors! I checked all of them out before attending my course and I know I chose the best one...Thank you Florida Medical Prep.
- Dec 29, '08 by AmicusCuriaeTo the previous post, I wrote about Florida Medical Prep of Pinellas and not about any other provider. They were nice in class but made promises that testing would be withon two weeks. I just learned that my testing was scheduled for two months down the road. I contacted them regarding this issue and they stated that I did not read their web page where they state: "we test weekly", "so you can work quickly". In addition they provided websites for jobs that were up for sale. Anyway, what does it mean to a member with the BBB? Nothing. I saved all the rude e-mails and the websites with no jobs available. By the way, I filed a complaint and forwarded all communications with this provider to the Florida Board of Nursing, the Florida Board of Education, the American Health Institute and the BBB. I think there is a huge difference between two weeks and two months. It also took days for them tow respond to e-mails. Thank you good luck.
- Dec 29, '08 by veronicajeanThis board is not about bashing companies. If you were that unhappy then you did the right thing. Report it and leave it alone!! Not every company can "make everyone happy" so you shouldn't bash people for trying. Anyways the state controls the testing not any PREP class. So let it be and move on with your day!! No program can control the testing because the state hires a company to do that. It is a shame that you had to report them for something they cannot control and yes, regional sites do test weekly but that means they are testing who the "STATE" chooses and people from all over Florida not just students that attend the prep training center or "test site".You can always test at another location if your in a hurry. Call Prometric and tell them you want first available test site! Sounds like that would be a better option for you.Have a peaceful.....week.

Please keep in mind that the terms of service for this website states that you should debate the topic and not each other. Also, keep in mind that this is an anonymous board. Members can post negative comments because they are disgruntled employees or students. They can also post positive comments because they are affiliated with the company. It is always best to check out schools or facilities for yourself or ask people that you know to give you their opinion.
To the op, I'm sure that you will have people that have had both positive and negative experiences with this company. It does not make the company good or bad. Only you can decide that for yourself. Since it appears that the op has moved on, I am closing this thread.
