For the Florida CNA exam when you do the assisted feeding skill is the patient in a hospital bed or sitting in a chair? I'm trying to get as much information as I can.

I'm not sure it matters....but if the patient is in a hospital bed, you'd want to make sure to put it in a sitting position before feeding.

How do u make sure the temperature is exactly 108 ? For perineal care ,? Or does it not matter for the exam as long as u pretend to check the temperature ??

Are all the supplies on the day of the exam separated based on the skill ur doing or do u have to gather everything on ur own before u perform ? Like for perineal care or bed baths are all the stuff grouped already or u have to know how many clothes or towels to bring ?

It depends, if they have a thermometer present...use it. If not, they will tell you to say something like "checking the temp of the water and it is..." I have my CNA cert in GA and where I tested didn't have a lot of equipment so they told me to tell them verbally what I would be doing.

Nothing is separated, it is supposed to be set up like a real patient room. You have to get the materials you need whether it means picking out a shirt from the "closet", getting sheets to make an occupied bed, or getting towels/washcloths for a bed bath or peri care. It would be too easy if they placed that stuff out for you. When I tested, they walked us around the room and showed us where everything was kept.

Have you looked at the youtube videos? JTDuncan (youtube user) has videos of the skills. She is from a school in NC, but the steps were exactly the same for GA. They helped me a lot!!

Good luck...out of the 8 of us that were testing on my certification day, only 2 passed. Two failed the written test, and the other 4 failed their skills test. Also, practice practice practice!

Yeah I been watching their videos over and over again to refresh , it might sound crazy to you but I never took a class, I'm challenging the exam so I need all the details I can get, basically the first time I take my exam will be the first time I touched any of the equipment or used any of the things I need for the exam. Can u tell me for instance what are the exact things u need to grab for perineal Care ? Was the written test really hard ? I did some practice test from my state , got an 80 but that's because I haven't read any books yet which I will do, also they told me to expect I'll be there all day for the exam and to bring lunch , typically how long does it take ?

Good morning, I would ask those who have already completed CNA skills test, if you can find all the materials needed for each skill before you start the skill and before the evaluator starts counting the time it takes to each skill also want to know if time is strictly inidicado for each skill and each skill if you must wash your hands at the beginning and end of each practice, or whether you are 3 skills many times should I wash my hands or just say verbally that I wash my hands.

Thank you very much for your help
