Nursing Students CNA/MA

I am gathering data and know that this question gets posted alot...but here goes. Can you tell me what CNA's make where you work and also post where you live and in the type of facility that you work in. Thanks for the information. I posted this in the region I live in and haven't received any replies, so I thought that I would open it up to include more areas than just NE Arkansas. All information is much appreciated.

Western Wisconsin, city of just under 10,000. I work in a LTCF and make $11.08 per hour (new CNA working about 4 months). Differentials .50 for PMs and .50 for weekends.

Specializes in Emergency, Med-Surg, Progressive Care.

I work for a hospital in a small town in Vermont. $10.90 for base pay, $1.50 for evenings, $3.25 for nights, and $2.00 for weekends. Friday and Saturday nights I make $16.15 per hour, which isn't too bad in my book. I always work nights, so my paychecks are decent.

Specializes in Nephrology, Oncology.

I work in a LTC facility in NC. Our starting pay rate for those with no experience is $9.40 for first shift and a $0.50 shift diff for second and third shift (so $9.90).

I live in a small town in Western PA. The LTC facility I just applied to told me $7.50 durning training (I'm not certified and am new to the health care field) and then once you start working it bumps up to $10.50. I'm not sure if it goes up for working different shifts and weekends. That will be a good question to ask at my interview. It's actually a lot less than I make now at my desk job, but they are also willing to help me go back to school for nursing so that is a huge deal in my book!! 

I live in North Central Idaho and recently quit my job at a long-term care facility -- this is the main reason: I started at $7.62/hour without certification as a nurse's aide. The facility I worked in provided the class and certification to become a CNA, 4 months after starting the job my pay went up to $9.62/hour. Pay raises at this facility are $.15 per year which means I would have to work there for 3 years before I'd be making more than $10/hour for the most harrowing and backbreaking dangerous job I've ever done. The medical benefits were costing me $180/month for really terrible coverage. I'm glad I walked away from that job.

Specializes in LTC.

I live in the Northeast and I make $14 after 3 years at an LTC. For comparison, someone in fast food around here makes like $9 and a factory worker makes around $18.

$16. Psych. Chicagoland.

Well this was my first job offer, but not exactly what I majored in. They started me at $11.65hr in May, and a few weeks ago, everyone got the annual raise in June so now its $12 hr. I just got another job offer though as a unit clerk. I work in a hospital union, Buffalo,NY

I work in a large hospital in Ms and I make 9.66 an hour.My fourth job as a cna because the previous job I have worked did not pay enough.I couldnt accept that I was going to be making 7.25 in a nursing home doing what I do.So I tried my hardest and got a job at the hospital. I have been certified for a year.

Canadian Prairies here. Population 640,000. Certified Health Care Aide (5 month program, job similar/same as CNA) at hospitals starts out at $17.04. There are shift premiums of $1.00/hr extra for evenings (3:30-11:45). $1.75/hr extra for nights (11:30-7:45am), and $1.35/hr extra for any weekend hours worked.

Dude, does anyone out there know what CNA's make in the UK ??? My husband's from there and wants to know, I've been Googling as hard as I can and haven't found out yet.
