CNA course while taking pre-nursing credits?

Hi everyone!

This is my first post here, so here it goes...

I'm currently working on my pre-nursing credits and am hoping to transfer to a BSN program. In about 3 weeks I'll be starting my CNA classes, but I'll also be starting 3 other classes that will go towards my major.

I guess what I'm asking is: Is it possible to do well in 9 credits worth of classes while doing CNA class? How difficult is the CNA class and is there homework that needs to be done each night?:confused:

I really want to keep my GPA competitive, but I also want the experience of being a CNA!! I'm so excited for the class!

It can be done but my question is why do you have to do the CNA right now? I did my CNA while I was on my 2 wk break btween semesters. The next question is why do want to do the CNA? if it because you want the experience or bcause you need $ - You will make more $ at Mcdonalds. I thought that the CNA experience would help me be a better nurse- not really, you do the whole CNA thing for about 2 wks in school then after that you learn more advanced nursing skills and never go back to it.

I want to be a CNA to get experience. I also want to do it so my application to nursing school will be more competitive since it's a really hard program to get into (I think like 60% of accepted applicants had some sort of healthcare background).

I know I won't be making that much money, but I really want the experience so I'll know for sure that nursing is for me.

I'm taking the CNA during the fall semester because I missed the registration deadline for the summer.:)
