    Does anyone know how to waive the cna program requirement to take the cna exam in nj?
    I'm currently an RN student finishing my 1st year of nursing school with only one more year left. I'd like to take the CNA certification exam without taking a CNA program since I'm already in nursing school. Does anyone know how to go about doing this?

    Here's the information from your BON:

    Certification of Nurse Aides in Long-term Care Facilities, Long-Term Care, NJDHSS

    In NJ, if you have completed a Fundamentals of Nursing course (it might be called Med/Surg I at your school) then you can challenge the CNA exam. You submit the required information to the address listed on the website, and they will send you a testing ticket.

    You can then use that ticket to register to challenge the exam at a community college, vocation school, or whatever agencies in your area that will allow you to challenge.
