CNA Active Status?

  1. This may seem like a stupid question, but I've been told two different things. The LPN program at my school requires us to be active on the nurse aid state registry...now does mean the certification be valid throughout the program...or I must be working as a CNA throughout the program? Forgive me, I just started CNA classes and my prerequisites for practical nursing.

It's not a stupid question. However, you should seek clarification from the LPN program for which you have enrolled.

I'd interpret that to mean that your certification needs to be active unless it also says you must be working throughout the program.

    Not stupid; valid actually.
To be in the LPN/LVN program, certain schools want you to have an active CNA license. You don't have to be employed as a CNA; they just want to know you have CNA training with an unencumbered license. You should verify with your school though.
