Register Today!- May 13, '11 by aisatsanaHey there everyone, I just passed my CNA exam this morning!

I took my skills portion of the exam on Wednesday and this morning (Friday the 13th 2011) I took my written exam, along with the other students in my class. The stress was killing me when we all had to go upstairs to a different classroom to wait for the examiner to finish grading our tests. Gosh! Though once we were all back in the testing room waiting for our results, it was even more stressful. I passed, though, and I admit... I did cry when the lady held her hand out for me to shake it.
Today after school, I went to one of the nursing homes in town and got my application. I'm really hoping I get this job because I would love for my first job to be at a place I truely do love. (The nursing home is special to me, I guess you can say, because it's where I did some training and it seriously did open my eyes further to see how wonderful being a CNA would be.) - ncbutterfly likes this.
- May 20, '11 by northmississippiI passed my cna class last July, but haven't been able to get on at the hospital. I'm male and not sure if that has anything to do with it. Maybe I can talk to a nursing home about getting trained up. I loved my class though and I'm taking prenursing at a junior college.

- May 29, '11 by LaterAlligatorCongratulations, all! I just passed mine today as well & it's been a long road ... I worked extra homecare shifts on top of my facility job to save up for the class, went 6 weeks of working 2-10 M-F and then classes from 2-10 on Saturdays and Sundays. Now I'm certified, will get a raise at work (was an uncertified caregiver before) and will have no more school or tests until September - woohoo!!!!ncbutterfly likes this.
- May 30, '11 by yajaira21I passed a while ago forgot to post
I got hand washing, respirations, denture care, position on left side and dress client with affected right arm.
I almost failed it again because the denture cup already had water in it and i poured it out with the dentures still in them and
she made an awful sound like "EHMM!!!" I just keept doing the skill and when i go to the end i said ok the only thing i would do
different is pour it out the water safer.
I felt so bad because my partner who is also my friend who failed with me the first time failed it again. And i had studied with her so many times. It was just her nerves I watched her go completely out of it all of a sudden her mind went blank and she didnt know what to do her breathing was crazy ( when i did respirations on her it was 39!) Im surprised the instructor didnt try to calm her down.
It could have easily been me 2student forever and ncbutterfly like this. - May 30, '11 by ncbutterflyQuote from yajaira21Congrats to you.I passed a while ago forgot to post

We had to do our skills in front of our instructor and I was so nervous on my first skill, assisting with a bedpan, I placed the bedpan wrong. She let me do it again and I placed it wrong again. We are doing clinicals starting Wednesday for 10 days and then we will be back in class for 6 days and then it will be test time. I am ready to get it over with and I pray I pass the first time.
