I passed my exam this morning! Along with washing hands I had...
Pulse
ROM on one knee and ankle
Ambulate with a gait belt
Occupied Bed
I felt terrible when my partner failed. She didn't put my foot in a basin for foot care, and forgot the lotion. Then when transferring me to a wheelchair she didn't lock the wheels and that was in bold Then didn't rinse the bedpan after measuring output. It was awkward to accept my passing slip while she didn't

She was nervous.. I have to try my best not to be nervous. Once your nervous, you'll most likely forget things.

I have to try my best not to get nervous.

I just took my exam this morning and I passed! :yeah: I got super lucky and had some easy ones I had handwashing, measuring urinary output, foot washing, PPE, and ambulating with a gait belt. I was soooo nervous and I forgot some small things like forgetting to ask the residents name, leaving the call light, supporting the foot and she had me redo a skill. As soon as I told her I was done with my last skill the timer went off. I even had to redo a skill :eek: I was sooo sure I failed after my partner told me and when I got my results I screamed so loud :lol2:

I cant wait to start my first nursing home job! I loved clinicals

This isn't about the CNA state exam, but I got an 87 on the finals for the nursing assistant program. 87 out of 100. I didn't study much because I knew it would be easy.. but she added some question that we never went over AT all.. I guess she tried to make it a little harder. I them wrong so yeah.. that's what happen when I don't study. As for the CNA, I will study a lot.. I am going to buy a CNA book to review it and answer questions to be prepared. I think I am ready... shouldn't be hard. I always though: If I do bad then what's the point going for the RN if I fail something easy? lol

oh, and I think I got an A for the final grade in the nursing assistant class.

I missed the clinical..

That's easy... omg! lol I hope to get easy ones.. our teacher tested us.. similar to the state exam.. and I passed. I did handwashing, transferring to chair, pulse and respiration, nail care. I almost failed because I counted resp wrong since the partner I had knew I was checking it so she ... >_

Also, I did pretty bad for the nail care.. I screwed up. I passed though.

I hope to get similar to these because they are easy. What I don't like are catheter care, blood pressure, range of motion (I will practice a lot for this)

This thread is useful.. I am going to look at what people have been tested on so I can focus on it. I hope I get someone nice to watch me. Some people give you chances and make you do it again.

I took mine Monday and found out today I passed :) I was a CNA from 86 to 91 and from 95 to 2002.... Had a 100 average in the class... And was happy to find out I passed :)

I passed yesterday! I was SO nervous.

I got: Wash hands, donning and removing PPE, transferring from bed to wheelchair,measuring and recording urinary output, and foot care!

I just got home from taking the WA State CNA test and passed. They gave us the written results before taking skills but then I had to wait over an hour after completing my skills test to know if I passed or not. The skills I performed were: hand washing (of course), count and record pulse, PROM on foot and ankle, mouth care and assist to ambulate. I completed them all in fifteen minuets and was so sure I forgot something like a whole skill not a step.

Thank you Heavenly Father, I passed my CNA exam [Florida] yesterday :heartbeat ---- May 6th, 2011. I got urinary output [document], side lying positon [left side], perineal care [private area and buttocks -- patient on protector pad /chuck], handwashing and indirect care. I passed my CNA state test yesterday - Thursday, May 12th!!! :yeah:

Nursing will be a 2nd career for me, and it has been a while since I have been in school, so I was SOOOOOOO nervous! I wasn't too worried about the written test - I like to study facts and can usually remember stuff pretty well. But I was EXTREMELY nervous about the skills test! Common sense/real world situations are sometimes harder for me than book learnin'. I had communication & hand washing (as we all did here in Iowa), then unconscious oral care, catheter care, empty cath bag, input/output, and position resident on left side. I had 45 minutes to do them and I took between 35 and 40 minutes. I got 94% on my skills - only lost points on emptying a catheter bag - I think I forgot to check the tubing for kinks... :smackingf I got 92% on the written part, which I did on a computer. I found out immediately about the written results and then had to wait about 15 minutes to get the results of my skills test. Practicing the skills at home on my own and with my husband really helped.

Good luck to all others who will take this test!! I am looking forward to working as a CNA as I start my pre-reqs for nursing school!:redbeathe

Hey there everyone, I just passed my CNA exam this morning!

I took my skills portion of the exam on Wednesday and this morning (Friday the 13th 2011) I took my written exam, along with the other students in my class. The stress was killing me when we all had to go upstairs to a different classroom to wait for the examiner to finish grading our tests. Gosh! Though once we were all back in the testing room waiting for our results, it was even more stressful. I passed, though, and I admit... I did cry when the lady held her hand out for me to shake it.

Today after school, I went to one of the nursing homes in town and got my application. I'm really hoping I get this job because I would love for my first job to be at a place I truely do love. (The nursing home is special to me, I guess you can say, because it's where I did some training and it seriously did open my eyes further to see how wonderful being a CNA would be.)
