About how much does a Med tech make an hour starting out?

I have my CNAS and want to accompany them with a med tech, about how much do they make an hour and can I do both a one job?

I can handle it, its called advancement, i don't want to nor did i ever plan on being a cna for life. Its the place I work at and i don't like wiping private parts all day.

Let me try again, a different way.

If being a CNA is mentally taxing, I don't know why you'd believe you'd be LESS mentally taxed as a medication aide. A med aide is required to be able to give a wide variety of medications, therefore they would need to know when NOT to give (I'd hope). And that would require more mental calisthenics than what you're currently doing as a CNA.

That's the thing: going from CNA to med aide is not the move to make if you're looking to not challenge yourself mentally at work.

This doesn't stop when you become a LPN or a RN. I know plenty of both who have to do it.

^^^^^^THIS!!!!!!!

Just because you are a nurse does not mean no more wiping butts; heck, you may not even have a CNA to do it or the aides are busy and guess what.............YOU will have to do it!

If you do not like CNA work get out of Nursing. NOW!

I worked as a CNA for many, many years before I became a nurse, and if you cannot handle it as a CNA get out of the field.

You people are ...i don't know what to say. POINT IS I'm asking about becoming a med aide, your off topic and the place i work at is always under staffed and 50 patients with 3 cnas is taxing, especially when you have people always watching over you and all you do isn't enough. Thing is i don't want to stay at one place for long, i like to gain experience and keep advancing. Whats wrong with that?

POINT is no one here was off topic. The reason you are getting the answers you are is because YOU said that the job of a CNA was too mentally taxing (your words) and then went on to ask about taking a MORE mentally taxing job. Understaffing was not a concern in your original post, which is why no one addressed it. You also said you wanted to be a med aide because you didn't "want to wipe private parts all day" but also said you were in school to be an LVN, which obviously was going to provoke another response from people. What you asked about you got answers to, maybe not what you wanted to hear, but it certainly wasn't off topic. With that, I'll leave you.

Good luck to you.

see ya
