the heading of the forum explains it well

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is an advanced practice RN (APN) possessing an MSN as well as specialty certification. The CNS is an educator, consultant, researcher, leader, and/or health care provider who usually has a specialty practice area such as diabetes, cardiology, respiratory, dialysis, pediatrics or psychiatric-mental health.
