Hello all,

I am interested in applying to Chamberlain's online RN to BSN program and I would like to hear the experiences of graduates of this program. Can you please tell me about the cost of the program, what credits did you transfer to the program, the courses and the workload, experiences with faculty and support,

Thanks

I think it is to expensive. I did graduate and I am glad to have my BSN, but I belive it is over priced.

Agree that it is expensive, but I had great tuition reimbursement that made it work just fine for me. I started in October 2008 and finished in June 2010, so it went over 3 calendar years and really allowed me to take advantage of my employer's reimbursement program. Out of pocket costs for me were about $9K.

I found the courses challenging and interesting, for the most part. I worked full-time in an ER, volunteered as a paramedic one night a week, and did some graphic design/desktop publishing on the side for one former client, and I managed to keep up with the course load. I did one class at a time for the most part, only doubling up a couple times. I think I had something like 10 classes to finish my BSN, but I came in with something like 206 credits - I had 3 associates degrees already.

I don't regret going with Chamberlain, but they are a bit pricey - they're a for-profit school. You'd be wise to check out your state universities for less expensive options. Good luck! :)

I had to take 13 classes. No idea of the overall cost because mine was completely paid for. I went full time (2 classes per session...4 per "semester") and finished in 14 months (April 2010 to June 2011). I also worked a PRN position (not a lot of hours, though) and two part time jobs teaching about 34 hours a week. It was definitely manageable, but I did my discussion boards during the week and waited to write papers until the weekend for the most part. I am very glad I used Chamberlain and also know several co-workers who did the same program. The hardest two classes for me were statistics and economics but I still got an A in both of them.

Good luck if you decide to do it. I loved the fact that there was no clinical component (which makes sense if you are working as a nurse) and that I didn't have the hassle of finding a preceptor like you have to with some programs.

I am starting in November. They are still evaluating my credits and I am hoping I will find out for sure in the next week or two.

Oh great! Finally found someone who will be starting with me :) they have finished my review and right now in the process of doing a second review on my algebra class. I'm starting with nsg 351 transitions. Do you know what classes you will be taking first?

I have no idea. I am not sure what is going on with my advisor. Could not get hold of him for the last week. Do you know if we need to buy books at all?

Yes they will send you an email with your classes and the books required, also your admissions advisor should go over all that with you in detail and show you how to order books after he/she registers you for classes :)

Hello fellow Chamberlain students! I've recently been accepted for the January 6th, 2014 start. They accepted my ADN and previous credits from a Bachelor's degree. I can finish as early as next October! For those that started in November, any advice? THANK YOU!!!

Hello, I'm in the 5th week of transitions right now and am really enjoying it! I'm only taking 1 class this first session and its definitely doable. I can actually be done with the whole weeks worth of assignments and discussions by Wednesday, then have the rest of the week to relax. It is not bad at all... So far lol.

I started the program in jan. I've taken 2 classes each session. The nursing classes are easy. It's the other classes that have been a challenge. Good luck!!!
