Chamberlain College of Nursing in Atlanta, GA

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

Has anyone attended or is currently attending Chamberlain College of Nursing in Atlanta? If so, how is it? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I am currently attending a technical college and have done all of my pre requisites except for the sciences. My gpa is 3.40. I just found out about this school and I am very interested... thanks.

I'm interested in pursuing the 2nd Degree BSN in 2013. I would love to hear from current students about this program. Additionally, if there are any military folks participating. My husband is active-duty with the USAF. We are currently stationed in England will be in Montgomery, AL July 2013 for 1-year. Looking at communting from Montgomery to Atlanta for this program... Hybrid is a plus for the long-distance commuter! Dont' know where we'll be stationed after Montgomery, but I GREATLY appreciate that this is a "military friendly college". I sent an email inquiry yesterday and will plan to hopefully follow-up with a phone call today.

Some questions:

1. Are the ACT/SAT and A2 Admissions Assessment waived for the Second Degree BSN program?

2. Enroll at anytime? No prereq's?

3. Are they good with transfering prior courses taken?

4. Depending on program schedule, I'd plan to commute from AL to Atlanta (closest site). Is this feasible? How often are labs/clinicals?

5. NCLEX pass rate with this program?

6. I understand this program (BSN) "varies by location"? Not offered at all locations listed on the website? My husband and I are discussing where he could potentially be stationed in the U.S (if we remain stateside after AL) and therefore it is important to know what other locations this program is offered.

7. If the program is 3.25 semesters. How does the semester system work with their 8/16 week schedules? How long does it typicaly take to complete this program (2nd degree)? 1.5 years?

Thank you!

@akilah If you don't mind, Who did you take for Transitions and who are taking for Patho 1?

Hello,

My name is Lisa and I am in the process of taking the exam for the nursing program at Chamberlin College. I am very nervous about but excitied about it at the same time. Could someone who has already and recently took the test give me a few pointers so that I could pass the test? I am currently studying the assessment admission book and the pass 2 times that I have taken it, I missed it by 2 points. However, I heard that Chamberlin does there point system differently. If im not mistaken, they go on a average score. What are the 2 main topics that I need to study and focus on for the enterance test?

i take my test on monday the 17th and apparently they only take into consideration your math and english scores. they take the average of the two and that average needs to be at or above 75. i would def say above 75. for math everyone says to study conversions ratios and percentages. maybe fractions as well. me personally i have been doing the whole book but mainly focusing on the math. the stuff in the book is pretty straight forward and im assuming the test is just like that.

I am getting a lot of help from scholarships which really help. There is a lot of money out there it's just all about applying.

Ah ok thank you! Did you pay $6000 out of pocket for the whole program though? Or a semester?

Oh ok! That's not bad at all! I'm so nervous about encountering financial problems IF I get accepted.

hey mtngal77,

1. I believe for the second degree program you do not have to do the SAT/ACT but still required to do the Hesi A2 exam.

3.They are pretty good at transferring in classes based on my experience I was able to transfer in 51 credit hours.

4. In my opinion that is a long haul commute depending on your location in Alabama. Try to google your location and the school's location and if its more than 2 hours.....smh I wouldnt do it

5. The NCLEX pass rates vary by location I have heard that on average it is about 90%. The Atlanta Campus is New so NCLEX pass rates have not been established just yet.

6.Information about the other Campus locations can be found on www.chamberlain.edu

7. The length of time it takes to complete the 2nd degree program will vary depending on the amount of credits you have transferred in to the school. Once you speakwith an advisor they will be able to let you know the length of the program for you
