Worried about getting B's

DO NOT WORRY ABOUT B's. B's will not hurt you, most schools require a 3.0 so even if you had all B's you would be eligible to interview. A lot more then just your GPA goes into the admissions decision, relax and do what you need to do. Good luck.

Try to lighten up a bit about the grades. Read some good fiction books, go to the movies, find a hobby you enjoy and become well rounded. You will come across better in an interview if you are not too intense. Anesthesia is serious, but having a life and a sense of humor is critical to your admission to school and a good career.

Most nursing students make B's one important reason is because many nursing schools have a harder grading scale than most undergrad universities. 100-94 A, instead of 100-90 A . Is it fair? Not really, especially if you decide after receiving a BSN that you want to go to graduate school for something other than nursing. You are now competing with others who were on a easier grading scale. However, you will be competing with other nurses to become a crna so it wont be such a issue. Good luck!!!!

Thank you so much for the comforting replies. I get so worried about being an A student while I know that deep down inside it takes alot more than that to become a CRNA. I personally know of a few 4.0 students who do not have much common sense or anything else going for them. But I will concentrate on becoming a well-rounded person in all areas of my life - not just academics. I believe that is very important. Thank you again as I will continue to visit these boards while traveling down my little road to success!

If I were you I'd take that B and run with it. I have 5 children and I live for B's .You are doing a great job ,dont worry just keep it above a 3.0.:rotfl:

As an ADN student, I thoroughly enjoy reading this discussion board. Every time I feel overwhelmed or begin to get daunting thoughts about the everyday pursuit of studying and thinking about the work ahead, I come to this board to get some encouragement. Thank you everyone for the constant support. This board had answered so many questions for me.
I had decided a few years ago that CRNA was the route for me. At first it was the money - I'll admit to that. But I started to become completely engulfed by the science of it. I am hooked. I'm not the type of person who likes to be told to do something and not know why. I need to know the technical "stuff" that goes along with it.
I have been a 4.0 student thus far and I got my first B's this year. I was stressed. I don't believe in excuses, but I did have a baby during the semester and my hubby works out of town on shifts. So I was completely sleep deprived and on my own most of the time. Anyway I got a B in Anat 1 & 2 and a B in my first nursing class. Maybe this is a bit premature to be worried. But did anyone else get B's in their nursing classes? I get so worried about my GPA.
This is a very important goal for me. I plan to obtain my BS in molecular biology. Where I'm going to apply, they will accept that degree. Also, has anyone tried repeatedly to get in somewhere only to be rejected again and again? I do not want to move or randomly apply all over the US. I plan to apply to the (2) institutions in my home state. I love where I live and would rather not move. Thank you in advance for any input you can give.
