Who is starting CRNA school this Autumn?

Just checking to see what members of the board will be starting school in the next couple of months. Or, who has already been going part-time but is starting full-time?

I am done with bedside critical care (doing a chair dance as I type that sentence - close as can be to the flashpoint in that job description at my present hospital). Anxiety about the road ahead is simmering. Suddenly, two-and-a-half years seems like an awfully long time.

Is anyone doing any preparatory reading?

Also starting TWU the 22nd. Just got settled in Fort Worth.

Talk about digging up and old thread......

I saw my msg posted from 2 years ago and now I will be graduating December 17th!! WOO HOO

Time flies when you are in the OR from sun up to sun down every day!!

As I sit here and think about how my three last shifts as a full time Staff Nurse will pass I cant help but smile. Two years ago when i stumbled on to this website I had so many questions and doubts. To all that hunger for the challenge that lie ahead a true prize awaits. I can not believe I have been in ICU for 27 months. School starts for me in three weeks at UC. I am very eager to start and will hopefully kick some scholastic butt. As far as chemistry goes it has been over a decade since I have had any!!!! I am not sure if I have the time to refresh it all. Good luck to all who post, and to those lurkers.......... GET INVOLVED. Life is not a spectator's sport!

I'll be starting at Medical College of Georgia next week, and I can't believe how the time has flown from the initiation of the application process to now! I can only hope that school goes as quickly.

If anyone has any text or downloadable reference material to share with the group, I'm sure that everyone would be sincerely appreciative of the help. We'll be using the Dell Axim handheld for classes and clinicals (yes, the whole class has the same PDA), so let me reiterate the call for downloadable drug and procedure reference material. Anyone else using a handheld as an integral part of the class?

Hang on, folks, it's gonna be a bumpy ride! Good Luck to all starting this Fall!

I have that Dell...really enjoy it. People on this forum suggest TMAP, but I also have Mass General, SOTO drug guide, 5 min Clinical Consultant and a general drug guide. They were all bought through Skyscape and cross-link to each other.

Good luck to you! We got the two hour "your butt belongs to us for 27 months now" lecture yesterday!

Shawn,

Did you get the pathophysiology review CD from UC? It has a little bit of general and organic chemistry to refresh your memory (nothing in-depth though). I haven't taken chemistry since I took Chem I and II back when I was pre-med in 1995 so you aren't the only one who needs to refresh. Are you moving to Cincinnati or driving from Columbus? My husband and I moved here in April from Indy. I can't wait for school to start but I also can't wait to move back to Indiana b/c let's face it....the whole town of Cincinnati is one big ghetto!! (no offense intended to anyone who might be offended). See ya in a couple weeks.

Starting in two weeks @ UT-Houston. I spent the summer taking nurs stats and nurs theory to lighten my course load for the fall...I hope it pays off!!

Hi Debi,

I will be starting UT this fall as well. I also took Theory and Stats this past summer. Did you take them at UT? If so, you may have been in my classes. Looking forward to starting and meetingyou at orientation on Thursday!

Tomorrow is my first day of orientation. The real work starts Monday. I'm already squirming with anxiety.

Good luck to all the other new SRNAs! It's good to know I'm not alone in my worries.
