does anyone know what money is paid to who when srnas are placed in the hospital operating room. Ive heard lots of theories but no one seems to know for sure. Does the hospital pay a fee per student? Does the anesthesia group pay per student? Or does the school pay a clinical fee to the hospital or to the group. Or traditionally is no money involved. I realize there are variations. But what is the usual occurence.?

There is no money directly involved with SRNAs working in hospitals. There is for residents, but not SRNAs/nursing students. What the hospital gets in turn is free labor for which they agree to provide learning opportunities for the SRNAs.

Usually no money changes hands. I've heard rumors that some of the megaprograms 'pay' something to a clinical site, but it's not a per/student type of thing. More a pay for someone to spend time making sure scheduling, evals, trouble-shooting is done. Most programs don't have the money to spend anything on clinical sites.
