I am shadowing a CRNA next week and I know he will be quizing me.
What main medications do I need to read up on?
What medical subjects do you think I should be caught up on that he will being up?
Trying my best to make a great impressstion!
I didn't do anything special ahead of time when I shadowed and I didn't get as much out of it as I could. Spend a little bit of time researching the volatile anesthetic gases (sevoflurane, desflurane, and isoflurane). Propofol, midazolam, fentanyl, and muscle relaxants would be a great starting point.
I also recommend reading a little bit about the airway and what structures are down there. Simple, but a good starting point.
