Like the poster above, the reception really depends on the provider you choose. I know that I use my Treo smartphone every hospital I go to (travelling nurse) and I'd feel naked without it.
Rumor has it that my
old employer purchased Treos for the emergancy medicine staff, with the plan to roll them out to the hospitalists. I don't know if that went through, though.
