If a patient had a right mainstem intubation and is breathing SPONTANEOUSLY would you hear any breath sounds on the left?

i say yes as long as there is enough of a leak around the cords and oett so air could move, if the cords are "sealed" around the tube ie edema etc you may not hear sounds. if the cuff of the tube is in the right mainstem air should still freely flow into the left stem and lung as long as there is a leak around the tube as above noted.
