Per Diem or Staff

There's a difference between per diem and true locum tenens. There are per diem anesthetists that work for my group, but they've been with us for years. They work a day or two for us, a day or two at the place down the street.

Locum tenens implies going to places for short term assignments, whether through an agency or not. A month here, three months there, etc. Particularly if you'll be in a place solo, I think you'll need some more experience before trying that route.
