I am a CRNA and new to this site. I am presently taking a 100 hr acupuncture course and would be interested in knowing if:

1. there are any CRNAs or NPs who practice some acupuncture as an adjunt to their nursing practice?

2. what value if any does acupuncture provide to your role?

3. there are any advance practice nurses who provide pain management care in the clinic as their primary focus?

Thank You,

Jim King, CRNA

Jim,

I am a CNM working in a hospital setting. I am interested in a continuing education coorifice in acupuncture. I have found some for MD's but non for advanced practice nurses, I am looking for a 200 hour coorifice, can you help me? I think that acupuncture has such an important place in medical practice. It is a way of using the bodies own abilities to balance and heal itsself. Our Medical Center is interested in RN's doing the acupuncture because it is unprofitable for an MD to take time out to do this prodedure.
