neonatal nurse looking for advice

by amyinpa

I am seriously considering CRNA school. Currently I am a neonatal nurse at a level 3 nursery (teaching hospital) with 2 years experience looking to apply to CRNA school. Based on some of the research out there, it looks like I need to transfer to another specialty to prepare for this transition - is this a correct interpretation? Next question is whether PICU is a good stepping stone to the process or should I get some adult ICU exp. under my belt? My preference would be PICU, but that could be due to familiarity, as many of our graduates are seen there.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Maybe it depends on the school but a couple of nurses I worked with in the NICU have gone back to CRNA school.
