Manager Letter

by BeatOU

My manager point blank said that until I've worked two years I can forget getting a letter of rec. Anybody else experienced this? Should I just not apply to schools who ask specifically for the unit director or apply any way and use other letter of recs?

Your thoughts are of course appreciated.

With a manager with that attitude, I would worry about ever getting a decent letter of recommendation.

and, oddly enough, during my interview with him he mentioned how all but one applicant who has ever applied from his unit has gotten into CRNA school....

I would definitely look for another job. By the way, I got my references from my school teachers! I called Oakland and explained that I am just a new employee and I wouldn't get any letters period! They said it's OK to go back to the nursing school and get recommendations. I personally liked this attitude.

Yep, that's the impression i have from them. I will have my charge nurses write them for me as well as a professor. Maybe we will be classmates! If so, can i borrow your notes? Just kidding, i don't want to jinx us...
