    Rhon1991,
Sycophant - great GRE word, isn't it?! Very handy to have in the vocab, especially when speaking with one.
Sounds like the "defensive questioning" tactic is relatively common. Interviews are going fabulously well, and then, WHAM, one of those questions in which no answer is satisfactory, so the hapless interviewee must struggle to respond in a politically-correct-yet-evasive manner! And yes, I was that hapless interviewee last year. I remember stumbling over some inane response. Must have been a slow year for applications, because here I am...

I was doing well until I was asked what would I do If a particular drug infiltrated. I thought about it for 5 seconds and responded that I would call the pharmacist for guidance, and then the attending. I know it was not the answer the interviewer was looking for, but she could not tell me that it was the wrong answer. Like Athlein stated interview the school as well. Good questions are "what are your passing rates on the boards." Try to search for the previous discussions on this topic because there are some really good posts on what was considered a negative interview by one student whereby, according to the student, the interviewers were rude, and see the responses she got on this BB. Like Athlein said leave the anxiety at home. I was sitting in the lobby reading a newspaper when the director's secretary came to get me for my interview. As we made our way to the elevator she told me that she would have never known that I was the person that was interviewing because she could usually pick out the anesthesia student from a mile off. I asked her why is that? She told me that they are usually sitting as stiff as a log wearing a two piece suit with an expression on their face that says it all. We both started laughing because here I was dressed in career clothing, but not in a suit, reading my newspaper quite casually. I then told her that I have four kids and that I don't get the adrenalin rush that I use to get once upon a time!
