international CRNA opportunities...


I apologize as this is essentially a repost of an earlier question from another user, but I'm interested in finding resources for international CRNA opportunities. For instance what countries recognize a US CRNA? Does New Zealand?

As I said, I did find an earlier thread that also posed this question but the link it included seems to be broken or dead...

well...I sort of answered my own question.
IFNA = International Federation of Nurse Anesthetists...

but the website (www.ifna.org) does seem to be broken or has moved...does anyone have any updated information?

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. They give anesthesia much like the docs in the US (requirements for supervision vary from place to place). They are not used in Canada at all as far as I know.

I am not aware of any country that accepts the CRNA training. Any RN that was a CRNA in another country, is required to complete the program again in the US. The same way that a physician trained in another country, must redo the residency in the US. And this goes for most other countries as well.

Many countries do not use anesthetists, only anesthesiologists.

You will be required to be fluent in that language and pass your boards for there, in their language............that will narrow the number considerably right off the top. Most will still not directly accept the training, same as that the US doesn't accept it either from other countries.
