I need to shadow CRNA at Parkland: any volunteers

you may have a better chance of directly contacting the anesthesia department via telephone & inquiring about the prospect of shadowing a CRNA. I'll bet they would have no issues with your request and would let you shadow at your earliest convenience. Sounds like you are on the right track for acquiring a great assest for entrance into anesthesia school--networking!!

If you don't get a response you can probably contact the nursing education office. I did most of my shadowing through this office when I shadowed. It wasn't at parkland but most NE offices are willing to set up shadowing.

I was going to also suggest that you contact the anesthesia dept there before doing anything. You are going to need their permission to shadow as well before you can even be in any of the ORs, and this goes for any facility.

My boyfriend is an EM resident at Parkland who will be on anesthesia beginning on Monday. I'll tell him about you and he can talk with one of the CRNAs there. Don't know how much weight he'll have, but I'm going to TCU in the fall to be a CRNA, so that may mean something. Feel free to PM me if you would like.
