I can't believe I can finally post this.....

  1. I GOT IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw the letter in the mail today and immediately dropped everything in my arms, tore open the envelope, and started screaming. The people in my apartment building probably thought I was nuts but I don't care!!! I got accepted to Montgomery Hospital/ Lasalle U. for the class starting in Sept. 2006. I only have 8 months of nursing experience and was up against about 40 other interviewees for 15 spots, many of whom have at least 5 years of experience!!! I am in shock and I can't believe it!!!! :hatparty:

Congratulations Emerald!!!!!!! From your previous posts, I know you've been very focused about this goal so it's great to hear you are in--and to Lasalle too, which you seemed so impressed with. They let you know so quickly too, which is also great. It's well deserved and I wish you continued good fortune with your training and in your chosen profession!!!!! :hatparty:

Now go celebrate, relax and enjoy. From what these boards indicate, once you start, life as you know it temporarily gets put on hold

Congratulations Emerald! It's weird, I can remember when the both of us were members of this board and still undergrads posting in the student nursing forum, and now we're both all grown up and heading to anesthesia school... *sniffle*sniffle*(wipes away a single tear shed for nostalgia's sake).....

    Again, CONGRATS!!

Thanks so much guys. This board has been a wonderful source of information and encouragement. I would not have been nearly as prepared for my interview had it not been for the advice of others who have been through this before me. I plan to continue posting, and share my experiences with others so that hopefully I can help others navigate the road to becoming a CRNA. I can't wait to join this fantastic profession.

    Congratulations EmeraldNYL

There is no greater feeling than the day you get one of those letters or the phone call telling you you are in. I started Samford University's CRNA program last Monday and I am delirious. I absolutely love it!!! However, I am still in awe that I am here. It still seems as if I am dreaming all of this. The only thing so far that has competed with the thrill of getting in is when you start the program and look around at your classmates and realize that you are really going to do this. I am sure the terror will begin for me after our first exams, but right know I cannot believe this is all real. Started classes Monday at 8:00 am with Anatomy lecture and that afternoon at 1:00 we were preparing our cadaever for dissection. Again congratulations. Keep us all posted The best is yet to come.
