is it safe for a pregnant woman to go into the anaesthetic room? i have asked at work as im nearly 19 weeks pregnant and i get mixed responses, some say 'its a no no' others say 'yes i can' so i thought i would ask those who work in this environment. Thanks

As long as your OR's and anesthesia machines have decent waste gas scavenging systems it shouldn't be a problem. We have pregnant women everywhere.

I had a healthy baby

Here's what I did. Try to avoid inhaling gases (ex. mask inductions), stay out of rooms where methyl methacrylate (cement) is used, avoid cases with lots of x-ray. Congratulations!!
