CRNAs in Colorado

Hello all...
New member here from Cleveland, OH. Finishing up my nurse anesthesia program in December of this year and looking to head out to Colorado, particularly Denver, to work and live. Any advice, thoughts, or knowledge about the CRNA situation in Colorado? Any thoughts on jobs, hospitals, cities or even the atmosphere for CRNAs in Colorado would be helpful and greatly appreciated. Thanks so much. This is a great site...hope to contribute more soon.

Greetings from Colorado! I was born in Dayton, OH. Small world. Let me look around and see what I can find out about jobs and how things look in re: to CRNA. I will reply later in the week if that is ok.

i have heard that denver general is a good place to work but they have students from TWU and they seem to hire them. not a lot of positions in denver from what i am told from a friend in my program looking to move back. prime areas like denver and phoenix seem to have slim job prospects for CRNAs due to MDA monopoly

Hey there...Dayton, huh? Guess it is a small world. Thanks for your help. The link you suggested seems to be more for RNs seeking employment rather than CRNAs, even though, oddly enough, they are posted under the category of nurse anesthesia. Got some advice to just start calling around to hospitals/anesthesia groups in the area and inquiring about employment. Guess it's just gonna take a little work and persistance. It's worth it, though...I'm falling more in love with CO everytime i visit! Headed back out next weekend, actually.

I was also interested in Colorado, but I think CRNA practice is pretty limited do to MDA control. I wanted to move to Fort Collins but when I contacted them, they have 40 MDAs on staff and 5 CRNAs. That will tell you something! I am learning that the nicer a place is to live, the more MDAs live there and keep CRNAs out.
