Continuing Education

Ok, so I passed boards...now it's time to consider going on for more education. I'm not sure how to approach my desire to continue my insane education. I am contemplating an MBA...maybe a PhD. Has anyone ever gonne to Walden University? They are an accredited online university. Just wondering what other people had heard about them. Are they worth it?

I received my MBA many years ago from University of Phoenix and just loved their program.

Congratulations on passing your boards.

Now you will also have to change your user name..........

Yes, I have heard of Walden. I have a friend who received her PhD in Psychology. She did most of her work on-line then attended ground Seminar classes for a few weeks per year. She also had about 6 months of clinical work she secured at our place of employment in order to receive her degree. My friend loved the program.

It is a school I might look into when I start working on my PhD after I am finished with my ADN. I already have a BA and MBA so that is my next educational step. Good luck.

You haven't had enough of school yet? Get out, take a deep breath, work, make money, see the world for a while.

Why does it seem like quite a few nurses have their MBAs? Is there a reason for it?

Is your program going to offer the DNP when it comes out? I can kinda see the logic in wanting to do something else kinda quick. Your are still kinda in student mode; probably would make it easier to adjust to more education.

What about law? With a JD, you open doors to administration, teaching, consulting in bioethics, in addition to working in medical malpractice stuff. There are lots of programs out there that offer part-time, 4 yr degree plans for working people.
