Aspiring CRNA - Malpractice Question

Hi all. I have a few questions regarding malpractice insurance that I hope some of you can answer. Is malpractice insurance usually paid by the hospital/anesthesia group that a CRNA works for? Or does the CRNA pay it themselves? Also, what does malpractice insurance run in your area (I understand that it varies by state) if you pay it yourself? I'm doing all the research I can as I move closer and closer to applying the CRNA school.

Thanks for the info.

If you work for a group of a hospital they usually pay the premium. If you are independent, or contract out you pay. I think the rates vary a great deal from region to region. Numbers I have heard range from 1200 a year to 5000. That is just two states in the midwest, one with a healthcare stabilization fund.
