Anyone else accepted to St. Mary's CRNA Program for 2005?

I found out this past monday I was accepted into the CRNA program for May 2005 at St. Mary's University in Minneapolis. anyone else here been accepted into the program?

This was my third interview since Septemeber of 03' Not accepted at my other two but did a brief phone interview and was accepted?

A couple of things I have noticed about interviews I have not received any clinical type questions for any of my interviews. All of them interviewed selected candidates so not everyone that applied was given an interview. I believe clinical questions are not asked since they are interviewing what they consider to be the best applicants for their program. For instance at St. Mary's they had 240 applicants for 30 slots and interviewed 40 people (nice odds).

I know not all programs are this way, but I believe most are and I think personality and "getting to know you" questions are a more reliable indicator. Most of the applicants to school could probably pass the programs but they are limited in their slots on how many to take.

Congratulations on getting accepted. This is the school that I intend to apply to in about 2-3 years. I have a questions for you if you don't mind. What was your app like? GPA? How much experience in ICU? I think mine is competitive but I am just beginning to finish my BSN. I went the ADN to BSN route. I intend to make myself as competitive as possible. I'm from northern MN and I don't want to move from this state so that's why I'm applying only to programs in Mpls. Again, congratulations.

I have also been accepted to SMU for May 2005. :rotfl: The interview was definately all personal. For iliket 3: I have 6 years experience in NICU and 4 years CVPICU and only applied to SMU- after a little research about CRNA programs I narrowed my focus towards a school which I felt would accept me. Many schools are not open to pediatric experience. SMU wasn't concerned and I highlighted the large, regional cardiovascular PICU that I work in and all the hemodynamic monitoring I do. I did have a 3.72 GPA for my BSN and did very well with the sciences. I also have my certification in neonatal nursing. I was in contact with a previous graduate of their program and have a lot of solid reasons why I want to attend SMU which I feel I was able to articulate well during the interview. Hope this helps.

I had a GPA of 3.4 overall and probably about a 3.7-3.8 for sciences. I have about 2 years ICU and 1 year peds. Paramedic since 95' CEN cert as well as ACLS-Instructor, Pals-Instructor, TNCC, NRP, ENPC. I too went the ADN-BSN route through Regents College initially (self study program). I am sastified with the program and the director seems extremely down to earth.
