My program had open slots...but they didn't take anyone but the 8 people offered a slot. Two decided not to come and they decided there were not enouygh people qualified to get into the program...so we have 6 in our class instead.

Only 6 students? Which school are you going to if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks for the info! We had heard that some schools in California also had open spots. It would seem easier to get into a school that is looking for more students. Maybe we will give University of Iowa a call

I don't want to give the wrong impression about the program. To be honest, it was the most rigorous and grueling application and interview process I had been through (I interviewed at 5 schools...including Rush...) It is not an easy program to get into. They had several hundred applicants and they only interviewed 12. They accepted 8 for my class and then there were 6 that came. They did not offer the open 2 spots to anyone else. Iowa is A GREAT school. I would highly recommend it to anyone..but please don't think its a super easy school to get into....its not.
